The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the plant's Quality Management System while driving a culture of operational excellence. This role ensures compliance with ISO standards, oversees lab and product quality processes, and strengthens customer satisfaction through robust quality controls. In addition, the manager leads continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve process capability.
Partnering closely with operations, engineering, and leadership, this position champions data driven decision-making and standard work across the plant. Ultimately, this leader plays a critical role in elevating performance, enabling sustained improvement, and supporting FXI's commitment to innovation and quality.
- Administer and continuously improve the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) to meet ISO 9001 requirements.
- Generate and maintain quality metrics, KPIs, and required quality documentation.
- Oversee programs for nonconforming material, calibration, document control, and product complaint investigations.
- Manage the internal audit process to ensure consistent ISO compliance and audit readiness.
- Lead APQP and Core Quality Tools activities, including PPAP, MSA, SPC, and FMEA, and support process validations with Engineering.
- Administer the CAPA system, driving effective root cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Review and approve Design Control and Design Transfer documentation while conducting QMS and quality training.
- Manage the onsite Corporate Lab, including ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, and lead a team of Lab and Quality Technicians.
- Drive Continuous Improvement efforts through Kaizen, Lean, DMAIC, 5S, visual management, standard work, and OEE improvement initiatives.
- Identify, scope, and mentor Lean Six Sigma projects, supporting Green Belts and coaching the organization in process excellence
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent years of experience.
- AIAG Core Tools expertise, including FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows, Risk Analysis (HARM), Fault Tree Analysis, and CAPA/rootcause methodologies. (preferred)
- Strong applied statistical knowledge, including SPC, process capability, and data analysis.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools in a production environment.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Minitab or JMP preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present effectively to individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated strengths in customer focus, continuous improvement mindset, and results orientation.
- Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to coach teams and influence cross functional groups.
- Highly analytical, organized, and strategic thinker with strong comprehension and documentation abilities.
