Overview

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Software Engineer with a Secret security clearance to support KITS and our government customer at Stennis Space Center, MS. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining mission‑critical geospatial applications for government clients.

• Design and develop robust, scalable software solutions.
• Write high‑quality, well‑tested code following best practices.
• Integrate GIS components and spatial data into applications.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance.
• Debug and optimize application performance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Implement automated testing strategies.
• Support deployment and maintenance of applications.
• Participate in Agile development processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong background in object‑oriented programming.
• Experience with GIS software development.
• Track record of successful software project delivery.

• Java, Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
• Object‑oriented design patterns and software architecture principles.
• Version control systems (Git).
• Database design and SQL.
• RESTful API design and implementation.
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS) – Commercial Joint Mapping Toolkit (CJMTK), ESRI ArcGIS components, ArcGIS Runtime, ArcGIS Engine, and relevant extensions such as 3‑D Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Tracking Analyst, ArcGIS Server.
• Software testing methodologies, CI/CD practices, and application security principles.
• Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Must be able to work on‑site at Stennis Space Center, MS.
