Junior Software Developer

As a Junior Software Developer, you’ll support our development team across a variety of projects. Initially, you’ll assist with day-to-day development tasks while learning our processes and methodologies. As your experience grows, you’ll gradually take on larger responsibilities and contribute to both client websites and our internal software products.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist senior developers with ongoing client website projects and the development of our software applications.
• Test and assist with debugging issues across multiple projects.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, project notes, and development documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and project managers to complete assigned tasks.
• Participate in code reviews and continuously expand your technical knowledge.
• Learn and follow our established processes, methodologies, coding standards, and best practices.

We’re looking for someone who has a solid technical foundation, takes pride in producing quality work, and is eager to learn from experienced developers. Required experience:

• Working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS

• Basic understanding of asynchronous web requests (such as AJAX or fetch()).
• Understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar).
• Experience working with text-based data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV.
• Basic understanding of responsive web development.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A willingness to learn our processes and methodologies, accept constructive feedback, and continually grow as a developer.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Web Development, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent technical training, certifications, or demonstrated development experience may be considered in place of a degree.

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Website design and UI/UX fundamentals.
  • Applicants who indicate website design experience should include a portfolio showcasing recent work.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.

During your first several months, you’ll:

• Learn our processes, methodologies, and coding standards.
• Support senior developers on both software applications and website projects.
