Class A Truck Driver

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Byhalia, Mississippi. Weekly pay starts at $1,800 with a $5,000 sign‑on bonus and a minimum weekly guarantee of $1,657.64. Additional compensation includes mileage ($0.65 per mile), stops ($15.00 per stop), per diem ($50.00 per night), and freight pay ($0.15 per piece).

Schedule:

Home for resets. Start times vary based on Hours‑of‑Service regulations.

• Solo to: AL, AR, FL, KY, MS, LA, TN, IN, MO, KS
• May travel to other states for customer locations
• Tractor type:
  Assigned Sleeper Unit
• Trailer type:
  Dry Van
• Freight:
  Touch – Tires
• Trucks are 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance.

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Class A CDL with required endorsements
• Pass Ryder drug test, background and motor‑vehicle check, DOT physical, and Ryder road test
• Verifiable Class A experience: 9 months within last 3 years, or 2 years within last 5 years, or 5 years within last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
• Over‑the‑road and high‑touch freight experience required
• Driver positions are paid weekly

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• Detect and eliminate safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist as required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
