Position Summary

The Warehouse Operator is responsible for operating a forklift and other material handling equipment for the purpose of shipping, receiving, and picking. Activities may include but are not limited to loading or unloading, scanning, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. The operator must also count and inspect product and notify leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. Associates must comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies and are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Operate a gas or electric forklift to load outbound shipments, move product, and stack products or materials.
  • Efficiently and accurately load orders according to the appropriate doors and trailers.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for all shipping functions.
  • Operate a forklift to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, stack and store products or materials.
  • Efficiently and accurately locate and place products in the appropriate storage areas.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for all receiving functions.
  • Accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands using forklift.
  • Efficiently and accurately pick products and stage them in the appropriate areas.
  • Stack, package, band, shrink‑wrap, and label product(s) as required by client.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for all picking functions.
  • Use documentation to ensure all products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly.
  • Verify that products and/or orders meet quality standards, including reporting any damages or discrepancies.
  • Stack, package, shrink‑wrap, and label product(s) as part of quality control.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for all quality control functions.
  • Execute all safety protocols and perform job tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
  • Comply with all SOPs, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
  • Use sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master, or pallet jack as required.
  • Maintain equipment and report problems.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed methods.
  • Maintain an active forklift certification.
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 months experience in a logistics / distribution / warehouse environment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Completion of a forklift training program.
Other
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months, ranging from mild to moderate.
Computer Skills
  • Basic computer skills.
  • RF scanners.
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions.
Language Skills
  • English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
