Missionary | Vice Principal for Student Life | Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia
North American Division Union | Guam-Micronesia Mission
Chuuk Seventh-day Adventist School is located on the island of Weno (the main island) in Chuuk State, Federated States of Micronesia, in the beautiful Pacific region. The school serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade, with current enrollment around 200–220 students overall.
What makes our school unique is its long history—established over 43 years ago—and its deep commitment to holistic Christian education in a close-knit island community. We focus on academic excellence using an American curriculum, character development, healthy lifestyle principles, and service to others. Our small, family-like environment allows staff to build meaningful relationships with students, and many live on or near campus, becoming integral members of the local Chuukese culture, church, and school family.
Role Description
The Vice Principal for Student Life is a full-time administrative position reporting directly to the Principal. The primary responsibilities center on supporting students and fostering a positive, collaborative school environment:
Leading a supportive, consistent, and fair approach to student discipline—including developing clear behavior expectations, addressing disciplinary situations thoughtfully, facilitating restorative conversations when helpful, and working together with teachers, students, and families to maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging school climate.
Actively connecting parents and teachers when discipline concerns arise—serving as a bridge to facilitate open communication, share observations and strategies, and help create consistent support plans between home and school so students receive unified encouragement and guidance.
Providing direct support to struggling students through one-on-one mentoring, academic and behavioral interventions, and working closely with teachers and families to help each child succeed and feel valued in the school setting.
The role may include assisting with school-wide student activities, assemblies, or advisory periods, depending on the candidate's strengths and school needs.
This is a full-time position following the school year calendar (typically August to late May), with some planning and student-support responsibilities during breaks.
