Plant Operator

Position

Plant Operator – Night Shift – Turkey, NC

Major duties involve the operation and maintenance of a Biomass Processing Plant and associated environmental control devices to convert biomass into pipeline quality gas and biodiesel.

• High School or GED diploma
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Valid driver’s license issued by state of residence and in good standing
• Physical ability to handle objects up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in environments involving dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes
• Ability to walk over uneven terrain
• Ability to work at elevated positions
• Flexible for on‑call support and varied schedule needs
• Positive team interaction skills
• Commitment to safe and environmentally responsible work
• Willingness to perform tasks outside technical scope such as housekeeping, landscaping, painting, etc.
• Other duties as required

• Mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities
• Gas processing experience
• Related college or technical school training
• Plant operations/Human Machine Interface (HMI) experience
• Experience with high pressure systems, blowers, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical and electrical equipment
• Ability to work under supervision and independently
• Ability to start, stop, and operate the plant following SOP
• Ability to accurately collect and log data from plant instrumentation
• Understanding of operational values for all equipment and reporting when readings fall outside normal parameters
• Perform basic maintenance tasks under the direction of the site manager on operating and ancillary equipment
• Capable of applying lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) on facility operating equipment
• Ability to interpret plant instrumentation readings and predict operational problems/issues
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter
  • Test fuse
  • Test for basic power, 120 V and below
  • Follow direction and assist with low‑voltage (≤50 V) troubleshooting with remote support
  • ARC Flash trained as a qualified employee
• Perform basic mechanical preventative maintenance
  • Follow work orders to complete maintenance tasks
  • Complete all data entry associated with the work order, including communicating need for re‑ordering materials/supplies used during the task
• Operate heavy equipment to perform plant activities (fork truck, telehandler, etc.)
