Contract Cost Accountant (4-Week Project – Hybrid)Location: Turlock, CA (Hybrid Schedule)
Compensation: $40 – $45 per hour (1099 Contractor or W-2 Temporary Assignment)

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to support a short-term, high-impact project for a growing manufacturing organization. This 4-week engagement will focus on conducting cost module reporting and analysis to provide executive-level insights to the CEO.
The ideal professional is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable jumping into complex cost systems to extract and interpret data quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cost module reporting and analysis for executive review.
- Reconcile cost data and validate accuracy across multiple reporting systems.
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to support margin analysis and profitability reporting.
- Prepare cost allocation reports and identify areas for process improvement.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate cost structures.
- Present findings and recommendations to the CEO and finance leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands‑on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or product‑based environment.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in ERP systems (Sage preferred).
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a sharp attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a project‑based timeline.
Engagement Type
This position may be structured as either a 1099 independent contractor or a W-2 temporary employee assignment, depending on the candidate’s status and client requirements.
