  • Position Summary
  • Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant positions available in the Office of Community-Engaged Learning.
  • Start Date
  • Positions available on or after September 14, 2026and ending on or before May 21, 2027. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
  • Job Description/Duties
  • To assist with the clerical and outreach aspects of the Office of Community-Engaged Learning
    Duties include but are not limited to:
    • Coordinate campus communication about volunteer opportunities for students.
    • Assist with outreach and management of on- and off-campus events.
    • Create and maintain files for various student, faculty, and community events and activities.
    • Provide support on-site at on- and off-campus community events.
    • Coordinates and prioritizes clerical projects interspersed with the day-to-day activities and operations of the department.
    • Compose letters and signage for the campus community.
    • Develop materials for the promotion of service and service learning events in coordination with faculty and other University departments.
    • Communicate effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and the public via email correspondence, in-person interactions, and/or telephone communications. Assist in the management of various activities, events, and materials for service learning courses. Assist with the maintenance of the online database of program sites for student placements.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
    :
    • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
    • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
    • Must have received and accepted a Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
  • Salary Range
  • $16.90per hour.

  • Satisfactory completion of a background check (which includes checks of employment records, education records, criminal records, civil records; and may include motor vehicle records, professional licenses, and sex offender registries, as position requires) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.

    Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
    Education Code 89521 Requirements:
    Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years before an offer of employment is extended. Applicants who reach the final stages of the application process must sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.
