- Position Summary
- Temporary hourly-intermittent work study student assistant position available in Political Science, Public Administration & Leadership Studies.
- Start Date
- Position available on or after October 1, 2026and ending on or before May 21, 2027. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
- Job Description/Duties
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provides front-office support including greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff and visitors.
- Answers phone calls, respond to general inquires, and direct questions to the appropriate department personnel.
- Assist with printing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, and other routine clerical tasks.
- Maintain an organized electronic department records.
- Assist faculty and staff with preparing documents, correspondence, and forms.
- Support department events and activities with set up and take down as needed.
- Help maintain office supplies and notify staff when supplies needs to be replenished.
- Assist with distributing departmental materials, mail, and communications.
- Enter and update information in departmental systems and spreadsheets.
- Greeting visitors and providing customer service by addressing student and faculty inquiries and resolving issues.
- Maintain Office supplies and equipment.
- Document preparation and taking notes.
- Perform research and compiling data for the MPA program by gathering information and creating spreadsheets.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications
:- Desired Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel).
- Desired knowledge of Zoom, and Canvas.
- Prior office experience helpful.
- Ability to work with diverse population.
:- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
- Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
- Salary Range
- $16.90 per hour.

- Satisfactory completion of a background check (which includes checks of employment records, education records, criminal records, civil records; and may include motor vehicle records, professional licenses, and sex offender registries, as position requires) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
