Position Summary
Full-time temporary position available on or after September 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 for Strategic Communications & Marketing. Appointment will be made with the possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance. This position's responsibilities are carried out under general supervision. The incumbent is responsible for providing photographic images to support the creation of materials promoting the University its programs and events.
The incumbent processes, edits, and delivers digital images in accordance with established specifications and deadlines and provides technical support for the organization and maintenance of photographic assets.
- Create digital photographs using standard professional photography practices.
- Capture digital photographic images to illustrate marketing messages and enhance the image of the University.
- Process new images; manipulate, optimize, and edit images according to established specifications and needs.
- Deliver images for inclusion in the University photo library and archiving system.
- Assist with digital asset management by organizing image assets, key wording, updating metadata, and creating and delivering asset galleries.
- May be required to obtain additional training and/or certification as part of professional development, based on department and/or campus needs, to stay current with industry standards.
- At the direction of appropriate administrator, may provide support to other areas as needed.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience:
Six months of experience in still and motion picture photography, including a thorough knowledge of video production techniques.
- One (1) years of related experience.
- Experience using digital SLR cameras and professional photography equipment to produce digital images.
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop to process, optimize, and edit digital photographs.
- Experience using photographic lighting techniques, including studio lighting kits and on-camera flash equipment.
- Experience using digital image storage, file organization, and digital asset management systems.
- Experience providing photography for events, marketing, communications, or promotional purposes.
- Experience preparing and delivering digital photographs for print, web, social media, or other communications and marketing platforms.
- Working knowledge of techniques, materials and equipment used in the production of instructional media and related communication assignments.
- Working knowledge of full range of production techniques including sound recording, graphics, television, photography, videotaping, lighting, editing methods and equipment.
- Ability to set up and operate a wide variety of production equipment, including set-up for multi-camera video productions and distance learning classrooms.
- Ability to learn techniques in the development of television, film, radio or multimedia productions.
- Basic computer skills to operate digital and analog production-related editing and duplication equipment.
- Basic photography skills such as film speed, light, and color requirements.
- Ability to perform photographic processing including an understanding of photographic chemicals and working knowledge of darkroom and development practices.
- Ability to use and maintain studio, camera and related equipment.
- Working knowledge of safety requirements including how to handle hazardous chemicals and materials. Solid writing and editing skills, including a strong foundation in English grammar.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain working relationships with staff and students.
- A background check (which may include: fingerprinting, checks of employment records, education records, criminal records, civil records, motor vehicle records, professional licenses, and sex offender registries, as position requires) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can begin employment with the CSU.
