Position: STEM Pathways Recruitment Coordinator (SSP IB)

Overview

Under general supervision, the STEM Pathways Recruitment Coordinator serves as a primary liaison between CSU Stanislaus and regional community colleges to strengthen STEM transfer pathways and support the success of prospective transfer students. This position promotes CSU Stanislaus STEM programs through direct outreach, presentations, and ongoing communication with students, faculty, and campus partners. The role provides prospective transfer students with accurate advising on admissions, major requirements, and university resources;

coordinates opportunities for students to engage with faculty; and tracks their progress toward successful transfer and degree completion. Additionally, the position supports ASPIRE transfer articulation activities, assists in program data collection, and ensures compliance with University and federal guidelines regarding student records. Through proactive outreach, advising, and relationship-building, the STEM Pathways Recruitment Coordinator advances the University’s goals of increasing transfer student access, readiness, and success in STEM fields.

Details

Full-time temporary position available on or after March 2, 2026 for the College of Science STEM Grants. Appointment will be made for one year from date of hire with the possibility of reappointment and/or becoming permanent based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

Job Duties
  • Establish and maintain direct contact with transfer students from regional community colleges to promote CSU Stanislaus STEM majors and provide information on admission requirements, academic opportunities, financial aid, and available student services.
  • Coordinate and deliver workshops, classroom presentations, college fairs, and other outreach and recruitment activities to support prospective transfer students.
  • Travel regularly to regional community colleges to promote STEM transfer pathways and student success.
  • Provide support with ASPIRE on campus workshops and student outreach.
  • Track and advise prospective transfer students, ensuring they are connected to appropriate resources and services to support their academic progression.
  • Arrange for students to meet with faculty as needed to facilitate successful transfer and degree completion.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of University and collaborating colleges’ academic programs, prerequisites, GE patterns, graduation requirements, and student support services.
  • Assist with regular meetings of ASPIRE transfer articulation faculty, including preparing materials, maintaining meeting records, and managing follow-up actions.
  • Assist in collecting data related to transfer articulation, program-specific outcomes, and system-wide evaluation as required.
  • Provide support for ASPIRE summer program administrative planning and logistics related to meetings, note taking, and student outreach.
  • May be required to obtain additional training and/or certification as part of professional development, based on department and/or campus needs, to stay current with industry standards.
  • At the direction of appropriate administrator, may provide support to other areas as needed.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. (Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.)
  • Experience:

    Equivalent of one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level. (Equivalent amounts of graduate level job related education may be substituted for the required experience.)
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, STEM field, Student Affairs, or a related discipline.
