The Department of Teacher Education invites applications for a temporary lecturer appointment. Part‑time appointment will begin in Fall 2026. Duties include teaching various courses in the Education Specialist Credential Program (ESCP), holding office hours for students, participating in course collaboration meetings, and attending program‑related training. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s in Special Education or a Master’s in Education with a concentration in Special Education.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching students with disabilities.
- Minimum of five years of TK‑12 teaching experience in a special education setting (Mild/Moderate and/or Extensive Support Needs).
- Strong evidence of teaching effectiveness (include evaluations of prior teaching experience).
- Strong generic training with skills and experience in assessment, curriculum, and instruction of students.
- Strong knowledge of Teacher Performance Expectations, Common Core State Standards, the ELA/ELD Framework, and pedagogical frameworks (e.g., UDL, SEL) and their application to teaching and learning.
- Teaching Credential with an added authorization in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
- Expertise in methods to teach English Learners.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis & Dyslexia Guidelines.
- Experience teaching and supervising adults.
- Knowledge of technology for online teaching and Canvas LMS.
