Assistant Professor of Nursing:
The School of Nursing invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track appointment at the rank of assistant professor. The person appointed will teach in either the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program or the Masters of Science in Nursing:
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) concentration. Primary duties include teaching didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses. Effective teaching, research, creative activities, and service to the University are required for retention, promotion, and tenure. The position is contingent upon available funding. Applicant must be a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Teach didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses in the BSN and FNP programs.
- Develop and revise curriculum, assessments, and teaching materials.
- Engage in research, creative scholarship, and service activities to support program and university goals.
- Master’s of Science in nursing.
- Current California RN license and California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License.
- Current national Nurse Practitioner Certification and American Health Association Basic Life Support Health Provider Certification.
- Minimum of two years of instructional experience.
- Minimum of two years of full‑time practice as a nurse practitioner.
- Knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methods, curriculum development, and evaluation, or willingness to acquire these skills within the first year.
- Doctoral degree.

COMPENSATIONCommensurate with qualifications and experience. Anticipated hiring range is $7,331–$7,481 per month for Assistant Professor (12 monthly payments per academic year).
