POSITION:
Temporary lecturer in Theatre. The Theatre Department invites applications for part‑time teaching appointments in Musical Theatre. Applicants should possess a strong background in musical theatre, music directing & accompaniment, and a knowledge of the musical theatre canon. Class teaching opportunities include vocal coaching, repertoire development, and auditioning. Music Director opportunities are available, with duties that include serving as a Vocal Coach‑Accompanist in Musical Theatre courses and rehearsals, and may include serving as Conductor in the band.
The department seeks a strong teacher and collaborator and encourages those who can bring under‑represented voices and experiences to a diverse student body to apply.
This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- A terminal degree (MFA, MM, DM/DMA) in Musical Theatre or a closely related field, or a BFA/BT/BM/MA with significant professional experience.
- Teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Demonstrated experience in accompanying/teaching/coaching with strong sight‑reading skills.
- Demonstrated skill in conducting instrumentalists and vocalists.
- Comprehensive knowledge of repertoire and styles of music theatre (including pop, rock, country, and rap/spoken word).
- Professional experience as a Music Director for musical theatre.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and representation in both classroom and production environments.
- Direction or performance in musical theatre productions.
- Knowledge of classical vocal repertoire.
- Curricular development and/or programmatic growth.
