Position SummaryTwo temporary hourly-intermittent student positions available in the Student Recruitment & Outreach office.
Start DatePositions available on or after August 19, 2026 and ending on or before May 31, 2027. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
Job Description / DutiesApplicant will need to conduct and facilitate in-person and occasional virtual outreach and recruitment activities within Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin County. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Travel to assigned local high schools to conduct college readiness presentations and facilitate outreach activities such as application workshops, both in small and large group settings.
- Become familiar with general admissions policies and department day-to-day operations.
- Represent Stanislaus State at college and career fairs and manage information tables.
- Establish and maintain direct contact with prospective students (9-12), their parents, counselors, and teachers to promote post-secondary education.
- Provide information regarding CSU admission requirements, procedures, timelines, financial aid programs, academic opportunities, and student services available at Stan State through individual and group presentations.
- Collect and report activity-related data for assigned schools or areas.
- Follow up, track, and communicate with prospective students and assist them from prospect to enrollment.
- Co-orchestrate campus-wide Admissions and Outreach events in collaboration with AOS staff and campus partners.
- Assist with data entry, filing, sending emails, making phone calls, scanning.
- Provide excellent and friendly customer service.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow verbal and written directions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be excellent story-tellers and public speakers.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage with diverse student populations.
- Student Assistants must have 15-20 hours per week available to commit to off-campus outreach activities.
- Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrate friendly and courteous customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of basic office equipment (copy machine, scanner, etc.) and programs such as Zoom, Outlook, and TEAMS.
- High technical and creative skills preferred.
- Demonstrates professionalism and excellent work ethic.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relations with staff, high school, CSU campus and community partners.
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
$16.90 per hour.
