Pay: $75,000.00 - $ per year
Job Title: Resource Specialist / Special Education Teacher
Location: Central Valley, CA
Schedule: Full-Time
Ascend is seeking dedicated Resource Specialists / Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs across school settings, including alternative and non-traditional programs. This role focuses on delivering individualized instruction, supporting IEP goals, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive student success.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialized academic instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities, aligned with IEP goals and California State Standards
- Design and implement individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based strategies
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to guide instruction and monitor student progress
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with IDEA and local guidelines, including progress reporting
- Collaborate with general education staff, service providers, and families to support student achievement and inclusion
- Utilize technology and adaptive tools to enhance access to curriculum
- Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies that foster a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Support transition planning, including post-secondary goals and vocational readiness (as applicable)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with state and district requirements
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-based initiatives
- Valid California
- Educational Specialist Instruction Credential
- Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Moderate to Severe or Early Childhood Special Education Credential - Added Authorization
- Autism - EL Authorization.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred
