Faculty Employment Opportunity

Assistant Professor of Accounting: The Department of Accounting & Finance invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track appointment in Accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2027.

  • Effective teaching and mentoring of students as they progress through their academic career. Teaching responsibilities for this position will be fulfilled primarily at our Turlock campus.
  • A record of scholarship that will meet AACSB Scholarly Academic standards.
  • Service to the Department of Accounting and Finance, the College of Business Administration, and the University.

This is an academic year appointment. However, opportunities may exist for an additional Summer Session appointment. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting or a related field from an AACSB‑accredited doctoral institution at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability and experience to teach a variety of accounting courses, especially in Accounting Information Systems and Data Analytics.
  • Interest in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence and Intermediate Accounting.
  • Professional certifications and/or relevant industry experience are highly regarded.
  • Commitment to conducting meaningful research with demonstrated potential to publish in respected, peer‑reviewed accounting journals.
  • Evidence of successful and innovative teaching experiences at the undergraduate level.
  • Commitment to support a diverse student body with a variety of ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Compensation

Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Anticipated hiring range is $10,386 - $10,915 per month for Assistant Professor (12 monthly payments per academic year). As a member of the 23‑campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.
