Harvest Church is seeking a Pastor of Discipleship and Care to lead our Downtown Campus. This is a full-time pastoral leadership role
for someone who carries both a shepherd’s heart and a builder’s mindset.

  • Overview

    The Pastor of Discipleship and Care will oversee the development of all spiritual and practical aspects of their campus; establishing a growing, vibrant community of believers who share their faith with others. They are responsible to help establish Harvest Church’s strategy and purpose in every function of ministry:

    • Equip them as leaders
    • Influence the world through sending and discipling

    The Pastor of Discipleship and Care is a pastoral leader responsible for fostering spiritual formation, cultivating a healthy discipleship culture, and providing pastoral care for individuals and families within Harvest Church. This role focuses on shepherding people, developing leaders, building community, and ensuring every person has a clear next step in their spiritual journey. While this role functions as a pastor, the title reflects an emphasis on discipleship systems and pastoral care rather than campus management.

    This position reports directly to the Executive Pastor and works closely with the operational teams to execute the vision and values of Harvest Church at their specific campus.

    Key Responsibilities 1. Discipleship & Spiritual Formation
    • Lead, oversee, and strengthen the church-wide discipleship pathway (Growth Track, Life Groups, Ministry Teams, Discipleship Pipeline Systems).
    • Help recruit, train, and develop life group leaders, and ministry team volunteers.
    • Ensure every attendee has a clear, attainable next step in their spiritual journey.
    2. Pastoral Care
    • Provide pastoral care through counseling guidance, prayer ministry, visitations, and crisis support.
    • Oversee care systems including hospital visits, funerals, benevolence processes, and follow-up.
    • Maintain a strong pastoral presence on weekends, at events, and during ministry moments.
    3. Weekend and Mid-Week Ministry Oversight
    • Serve as the pastoral lead during weekend services for their specific campus (or as assigned).
    • Provide pastoral coverage in prayer teams, altar ministry, baptism preparation, and new-believer and guest follow-up.
    • Ensure the culture, tone, and guest experience reflect Harvest Church’s values.
    4. Leadership Development
    • Identify, disciple, and mentor emerging leaders within groups, care teams, and volunteers.
    • Build and maintain a discipleship pipeline that empowers people to serve, lead, and grow in ministry competency.
