Position Overview

The Assistant Director of Front of House supports the Executive Director of Operations in leading daily guest experience and Front of House operations with excellence, consistency, and care. This role helps oversee hospitality, service execution, team development, cleanliness, speed of service, and operational systems while creating a culture rooted in teamwork, ownership, hospitality, and operational excellence.

The Assistant Director of Front of House plays a key role in ensuring guests consistently receive fast, accurate, and genuinely caring service while helping develop and support the Front of House team. This leader will work closely with the Executive Director of Operations and leadership team to maintain strong systems, execute high hospitality standards, and create an environment where team members feel supported, challenged, and equipped to succeed.

This role requires strong leadership presence, operational awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to lead effectively in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Support and help lead the overall Front of House guest experience during all dayparts
• Help uphold high standards of hospitality, customer care, and operational excellence
• Ensure guests consistently receive accurate, fast, friendly, and attentive service
• Help coach team members on hospitality standards and guest interaction expectations
• Assist with guest recovery situations by responding with professionalism, empathy, and urgency
• Foster a culture where guests feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and cared for
• Help identify opportunities to improve hospitality and guest satisfaction

Front of House Operations

• Support daily Front of House operations including dining room, drive-thru, front counter, mobile orders, and catering handoff
• Help lead operational execution during peak business periods while maintaining speed, accuracy, and hospitality
• Ensure strong communication and teamwork between Front of House and Back of House operations
• Maintain high cleanliness, organization, and appearance standards throughout all guest-facing areas
• Assist with labor deployment and positioning to support operational efficiency
• Ensure operational procedures and systems are followed consistently
• Support catering execution and hospitality for large orders and community events

Team Leadership & Development

• Support the coaching, training, and development of Front of House team members
• Help create a culture centered around teamwork, accountability, ownership, and encouragement
• Assist with onboarding and training new Front of House team members
• Help identify and develop future leaders within the Front of House team
• Support coaching conversations and performance accountability with professionalism and care
• Foster a positive and high-performing environment where team members feel valued and supported
• Partner with the leadership team to support morale, engagement, and development initiatives
• Directly lead the Front of House Shift Leaders and ensure they are supported to execute operational expectations and maintain consistent accountability

Systems & Operational Excellence

• Help maintain and improve Front of House systems that increase consistency, efficiency, and execution
• Support operational goals related to speed, accuracy, hospitality, and guest satisfaction
• Assist with shift readiness and operational planning during busy periods and special events
• Support labor stewardship and daily operational organization
• Support food cost initiatives with particular focus on desserts and condiments
