Description
The IT Services Internship is designed to provide students with a hands-on, professional learning experience that aligns with their field of study. Interns will work closely with the IT Services Department staff, gaining exposure to real-world IT operations and contributing to projects that support organizational technology needs.
Examples of Duties
Key Responsibilities
Interns will assist with a variety of tasks, including some or all of the following:
* Performing software updates across systems
* Providing user support at the help desk
* Communicate clearly and professionally with all District departments
* Managing and tracking hardware inventory
* Conducting media sanitization and disposal in compliance with security standards
* Performing data entry and maintaining accurate records
* Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
* Data analysis, software development, testing, requirements gathering
* Collaborating with multiple IT teams, including:
* Service Desk
* Operations
* Applications
* Cybersecurity
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, students will have:
* Practical experience in IT support and operations
* Exposure to enterprise-level IT systems and processes
* Improved technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Understanding of IT security practices and compliance standards
* Experience working in a collaborative, professional environment

* Class Level: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate currently enrolled in a college or university program related to Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar field

* Hourly Rate: $20.00/hr. commensurate with experience
* Work Hours:
Flexible, up to 40hrs per week
* Experience Level: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred but not required
