Maintenance Manager – Food/Dairy Manufacturing (Turlock, CA)

Compensation: $100,000–$135,000 DOE + 10% bonus

Schedule: Standard business hours with 6:30 AM arrival; flexibility required

On-Call: 24/7

Relocation: Available

Travel: Minimal (training & conferences)

Reports to: Senior Plant Leadership

Team: 2 direct, 12 indirect

Role Overview

A growing food manufacturing facility is seeking a Maintenance Manager with strong food/dairy experience and demonstrated leadership. This leader will improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs, oversee equipment reliability, and guide a team through consistent, safety-focused execution. The ideal candidate is committed, steady, and searching for a long-term fit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the maintenance department, including supervisors, planners, and technicians.
  • Strengthen and elevate the PM program; drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure equipment reliability across electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and utility systems.
  • Collaborate with production and plant leadership on operational priorities.
  • Enforce safety, GMP, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain maintenance reporting, documentation, and system accuracy.
  • Respond to urgent plant needs as part of 24/7 on-call responsibility.
Qualifications
  • 5–8 years in maintenance, mechanical engineering, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ year of management experience preferred.
  • Food or dairy manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Successful history improving PM programs.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Experience enforcing and following plant safety policies.
  • High School Diploma required, technical licenses or certifications a plus.
