Director of Quality and Product Safety

We are seeking a Director of Quality and Product Safety to help lead our Agricultural Ingredients Division. This person will lead the development, implementation, measurement and maintenance of Quality and Food Safety systems that assure raw material, processes and finished products consistently meet or exceed the quality standards of Natural Ingredients and global regulatory requirements. The Agricultural Ingredients Business Unit site QA and QC Managers will report directly to this position and will be working across three plant locations.

• Lead through change. Champion continuous improvement efforts and implement quality improvement activities to raise the performance of the divisions’ product lines.
• Educate, mentor and train employees as to their impact on the quality management system.
• Develop, implement and maintain policies and standards that assure raw materials, processes and finished products within Sensient Agricultural Ingredients consistently meet the quality standards necessary for complete customer satisfaction.
• Oversee the customer complaint process and ensure complaints are investigated and closed within the targeted timeframe; review CAPA and close quality inquiries in CRM for all Natural Ingredients units.
• Champion BRC compliance and a culture of food safety at each of the Natural Ingredients locations.
• Assist with vendor food safety and quality audits for domestic and international suppliers.
• Alert and provide counsel to the management team on technical, quality and food safety matters.

• Preferably 7‑10 years of experience in a leadership position within a Quality Assurance/ Food Safety/ Regulatory environment within the Food and/or Flavor manufacturing industry.
• Experience working in a large international manufacturing environment also preferred.
  
  Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification and implementation experience preferred.
• Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification is required.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead through influence with multiple levels of leadership.
• A minimum of a four‑year equivalent degree in chemistry, microbiology, food science, or other related technical degree is required; advanced (Masters) degree preferred.

Salary range for this position is $190,000 – $240,000. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training and labor market conditions.
