Job Summary

Reporting to the Nursing Department Director, the Registered Nurse Shift Manager utilizes nursing process and organizational/leadership skills to coordinate staff services to patients during the designated shift. The role ensures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served. The Shift Manager assesses staffing needs, collaborates with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure patient needs are met and supports the Nursing Department Director on various administrative duties.

Job Type: Full Time
$20,000 Sign-on bonus (not applicable to internal candidates)

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate nursing staff to provide patient care during shifts.
  • Ensure patient care aligns with patient age and developmental needs.
  • Assess staffing needs and collaborate with coordination staff to meet patient demands.
  • Support administrative duties for the Nursing Department Director.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Two to five years of acute care experience or equivalent
  • RN skills as described for designated unit
  • Two years of emergency room experience
  • Managerial experience preferred
  • Current California RN license
  • PALS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • MICN Certification within one year
