Staff Accountant
LHH is seeking a Staff Accountant for a growing organization in the Phoenix area. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to contribute to a collaborative finance team.
Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare supporting schedules and financial reports for management review.
- Analyze financial data and identify variances or unusual transactions.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Assist with audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and GAAP standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting-related issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2+ years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
- Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- CPA or CPA-track candidates are highly preferred but not required
- Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience.
- Experience supporting audits.
- Exposure to budgeting and financial analysis.
- Manufacturing, healthcare, construction, distribution, or service industry accounting experience.

Pay Details: $18.00 to $26.00 per hour
