The Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Advanced Assistant Professor level in the Department of Management. We seek a scholar with a strong research agenda, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and a commitment to contributing to the College and University community. The position begins August 16, 2027.

Detailed Position Information

The Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Advanced Assistant or Assistant Professor position in the Department of Management. Primary duties include developing and maintaining a robust research program that results in publications in leading scholarly journals, teaching courses in our undergraduate, master's, and/or doctoral programs, and performing service activities as assigned by the Department, College, and University.

We seek candidates with research and teaching interests in Strategy and Entrepreneurship. As part of the department's strategic priorities, preference will be given to candidates whose research examines the implications of artificial intelligence for strategy and entrepreneurship or advances our understanding of how AI is reshaping foundational theories and practices in these fields. Candidates with expertise in macro-level research methods are also especially encouraged to apply.

The Culverhouse College of Business offers a vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystem, including the Alabama Entrepreneurship Institute (AEI), The EDGE, an entrepreneurship concentration, and a university-wide entrepreneurship minor. The EDGE serves as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation, supporting a broad portfolio of programs and activities, including AI-related initiatives. These resources provide opportunities for faculty to engage with students, entrepreneurs, and the broader entrepreneurial community and also support research and experiential learning.

Minimum Qualifications

Applications are invited from candidates who have completed their doctorate (or expect to complete their doctorate by August 16, 2027) in management or a related field from an AACSB accredited University. In addition, all applicants should have research and teaching experience commensurate with appointment as an assistant professor of management at a state flagship university
