This position is based at Power South Energy Cooperative’s Lowman Energy Center in Leroy, AL.
JOB SUMMARY &MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The purpose of this position is to provide miscellaneous maintenance and repair activities at transmission, distribution, generation and telecommunication sites and facilities owned by Power South and its member owners. The incumbent must possess competent skills and ability to perform miscellaneous maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities on the Power South system. This position requires the ability to operate a vehicle in a constant state of alertness, safely and without being a direct threat to self or others, either with or without any reasonable accommodations.
The incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Class A CDL within eighteen (18) months (must be 21 to obtain CDL). The incumbent must also have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintains the physical appearance and physical integrity of equipment, buildings and property associated with substation, transmission, generation and telecommunication facilities. Performs facility maintenance duties such as grass mowing, fence erection and repair, painting, HVAC replacements, lighting repairs, conduit installation and repairs, erosion repair, etc.
- Assists other Power South crews with maintenance or construction tasks.
- Performs administrative duties including but not limited to providing timesheets, equipment logs, vehicle mileage tickets, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring the success of Power South by promoting teamwork, group goals and objectives, proper communication and cooperation within the department, division, throughout the Power South organization and with member systems.
