Join us at Volkert as we pave the way to your future! We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental and NEPA Project Lead to enhance our team.

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and NEPA planning.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Leading the preparation of NEPA studies for federally funded projects, including Categorical Exclusions (CE), Environmental Assessments (EA), and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) for a variety of transportation project types and sizes.
  • Collaborating with internal project teams to ensure project success.
  • Conducting site visits for various projects as needed.
  • Facilitating public involvement efforts for environmental projects.
  • Managing projects to meet budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Assisting in the business development of environmental projects.
What You Need to Have:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation and NEPA planning is essential.
  • GIS experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills are required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
