Job Description
Senior Technician II-Engineering at our facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This role offers the opportunity to operate in a highly technical and scientific environment, employing a variety of manufacturing and testing techniques.
Responsibilities- Support Engineering Activities including:
Design, Test, Check‑out, Modification, Fabrication & Assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, RF/Microwave devices and specialized test equipment. - Applications include Electronic Circuits, Microwave RF, and Logic Systems.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, check‑out and troubleshooting functions.
- Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
- Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
- Assist in design, construction, test and check‑out of test equipment.
- Use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience and a proven track record of excellence in electronics assembly and testing.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
- Experience in soldering and cable assembly.
- Demonstrated ability to multi‑task and remain highly organized.
- Comfortable working with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong commitment to teamwork and process.
- Demonstrated proficiency in space‑qualified construction and testing techniques.
- Demonstrated proficiency in documentation generation, organization, and storage.
- BS/BA in Engineering / Engineering Technology.
- J-STD Certification (terminals and wires, through‑hole technology and surface‑mount technology).
- Experience in high‑precision timing, test, and measurement.
- Experience with ultra‑high vacuum systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in space‑qualified construction and testing techniques.
- Demonstrated RF design capabilities.
- FPGA programming experience.
