Purpose of the Position

Under general supervision this position is responsible for all systems, standards, policies and procedures related to the efficiencies of the equipment at MBUSI and the functions of the maintenance group.

Essential Functions
  • Provide primary/lead technical resource in support of maintenance group.
  • Develop, maintain and oversee maintenance systems and core maintenance activities.
  • Manage outsourcing activities and selection of key service contractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance training programs as related to the equipment-based technologies. Deliver training in areas of technical expertise.
  • Define equipment life cycle and develop plans associated with them as required (i.e. rebuilds, upgrades, replacements, etc.).
  • Analyze shop efficiency/equipment downtime and provide plans and countermeasures for improvement.
  • Track all line related downtime systematically to improve efficiency.
  • Lead investigation of breakdowns related to extended downtime & maintenance system failures.
  • Develop and modify maintenance systems based on breakdown reports.
  • Develop all predictive and long-term preventative maintenance plans.
  • Responsible for auditing and maintenance of Preventative Maintenance (PM) system including all equipment care tasks in conjunction with the maintenance team.
  • Plan and prepare for product changes and their impact on processes, equipment, tooling, in conjunction with supporting departments (Production, Process Engineering, Maintenance, etc.).
  • Develop, improve, and modify equipment, buy‑off and “Scope of Work” standards.
  • Ensure equipment safety standards related to new technologies.
  • Manage maintenance engineering budgets both expense and capital.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues for systems, standards, policies and procedures related to the equipment efficiency and function.
  • Responsible for project management, planning, design reviews, implementation, and successful execution of expense and capital related projects.
  • Coordinate weekend work and shutdown activities.
  • Participate in weekend work activities overseeing/coordinating contractors and supporting maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for major rebuild, repair, and refurbishment projects.
  • Responsible for initial spare parts setup and establishing correct inventory levels.
  • Develop single point lessons, procedures, and guidelines relating to equipment needs.
  • Write project justifications, develop scope of work standards, and project timelines.
  • Prepare formal reports for the purpose of communicating problem/project status.
  • Work with shop resources to lead system and asset criticality scoring activities and align with planner for updates in SAP.
  • Work with shop resources to lead FMEA risk analysis as well as PM optimization activities and align with planner for updates in SAP.
  • Review job plans and work instructions to ensure they are complete and efficient technical solutions.
  • Review shop/asset performance using dashboards and any other available data.
  • Perform daily tasks in a High Voltage Battery System assembly environment.
  • Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to supervisor or Human Resources. Work safely 100% of the time.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Electricity, Industrial Maintenance or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):
