Deputy Director of Architectural Engineering; Mobile

Position Overview

Responsible administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, and directing the architectural, engineering, and capital project functions of the Real Estate and Asset Management Department, providing mid-level municipal leadership for the Architectural Engineering Division and supporting the REAM Director in advancing City facility and asset management goals. Responsible for overseeing project management standards, staff development, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure effective, transparent, and fiscally responsible operations.

Starting Salary: $80,914

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Minimum of ten years of responsible professional experience in the fields of architecture, building science, civil engineering, and/or project management.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, Professional Landscape Architect, or an industry-recognized certification such as PMP.
• Post‑graduate degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
