Reliability Engineer

Our client, a leading manufacturer in the Gulf Coast region, is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support a highly automated Non-Grain Oriented Electric Steel (NOES) production unit. As the Reliability Engineer, you will serve as the subject matter expert for reliability engineering practices and provide mechanical engineering support to the maintenance team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide engineering support for maintenance and production operations
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations for equipment failures and major breakdowns
• Identify and implement solutions to reduce repeat equipment failures and unplanned downtime
• Analyze equipment performance data and develop recommendations for improved reliability
• Develop and maintain technically based preventive and predictive maintenance plans
• Participate in critical equipment inspections and condition assessments
• Review engineering drawings, maintenance documentation, and technical specifications
• Track and trend equipment reliability metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and sustainability

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum of 3 years of heavy industrial manufacturing experience
• Minimum of 2 years in a reliability engineering role
• Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) practices
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and troubleshooting skills
• Experience analyzing equipment performance and maintenance data
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of heavy industrial equipment maintenance, including:
• Rotating equipment (bearings, couplings, shafts, conveyors, rollers, power transmission)
• Hydraulic systems
• Lubrication systems and best practices

• CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional)
• Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)
• Predictive Maintenance certifications (Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Oil Analysis, Tribology, Motor Circuit Analysis)
• Steel rolling or steel manufacturing experience
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience
• Solid Works and/or AutoCAD experience
• SAP experience
• Familiarity with RCFA, Cause Mapping, and Kaizen methodologies
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills
