Trueline is seeking a Mechanical Quality Specialist to join their expanding manufacturing operation in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area for a rapidly growing off-site modular construction team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced mechanical construction professional who wants to leverage years of field expertise in a stable manufacturing environment while helping deliver complex modular systems for some of the country's most demanding commercial and industrial projects.

Must-Haves

as the Mechanical Quality Specialist:
  • 5+ years of experience installing commercial or industrial mechanical systems
  • Experience as a Foreman, Lead Fitter, Superintendent, or other field leadership role, or equivalent informal leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, industrial piping systems, and mechanical equipment installation
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, piping isometrics, equipment layouts, and engineering documentation
  • Experience identifying constructability, installation, and serviceability issues before project completion
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working on at least one of the following project types:
    • Healthcare
    • Data Centers
    • Automotive Manufacturing
    • Mission-Critical Facilities
  • Local candidate able to work onsite in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area
What You'll Do as the Mechanical Quality Specialist:
  • Serve as the final quality checkpoint before mechanical modules leave the manufacturing facility
  • Inspect pumps, valves, piping systems, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Identify constructability issues before shipment, including access concerns, piping interferences, equipment orientation, serviceability, and installation sequencing
  • Verify proper installation, alignment, and overall fit and finish of modular mechanical systems
  • Partner with fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, electrical, and engineering teams to resolve quality and constructability issues
  • Review fabrication drawings, piping isometrics, equipment layouts, and installation details
  • Participate in final shipment readiness inspections and documentation
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce field rework and improve installation efficiency
  • Mentor junior quality personnel and help establish best practices throughout the manufacturing operation
  • Champion a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Nice-to-Haves as the Mechanical Quality Specialist:
  • ASME piping experience
  • QA/QC inspection experience
  • Experience in modular construction or off-site manufacturing
  • CWI, NDT, or other quality certifications
  • Experience with industrial process piping
  • Mechanical contracting background
  • Experience mentoring field personnel or junior inspectors
This Role Offers:
  • Base salary of $70,000-$90,000, depending on experience
