IMPORTANT TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

This is a traveling field survey position and is not limited to one city or state.

Candidates must be comfortable traveling to different project locations throughout the United States and being away from home for approximately 2–3 consecutive weeks at a time.

The typical project schedule may include:

  • 2–3 weeks traveling and working in assigned field locations
  • Approximately 1 week off/home between assignments, depending on project requirements
  • Travel between multiple cities, states, and project areas
  • Daily travel between assigned field survey locations while on an active project
  • Outdoor field work in varying weather and site conditions

Job Summary

Cyient is seeking Field Technicians / Telecommunications Field Surveyors to support telecommunications, broadband, fiber, and Outside Plant (OSP) infrastructure projects throughout multiple U.S. markets.

This is a high-travel field position involving site surveys, field data collection, documentation, utility-pole and infrastructure assessments, quality checks, and support for telecom engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in the field, traveling extensively, navigating assigned routes, using mobile field-data applications, taking accurate photographs and measurements, and documenting existing telecommunications and utility infrastructure.

Field Technicians may support multiple projects and geographic areas during their assignments and should be adaptable to changing project locations and priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform telecommunications and broadband field surveys across multiple project locations.
  • Travel to assigned cities, states, and field territories based on project requirements.
  • Collect accurate field data for fiber, broadband, OSP, and telecommunications infrastructure projects.
  • Review existing site conditions, utility poles, telecom equipment, routes, aerial facilities, underground infrastructure, and other field conditions.
  • Take clear photographs, measurements, notes, and other required field documentation.
  • Enter field information accurately using approved mobile applications and data-collection tools.
  • Support OSP engineering, fiber, utility, and project teams with accurate field information.
  • Review and verify information associated with aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Identify missing information, field conflicts, access issues, safety concerns, or differences between existing conditions and engineering records.
  • Assist with field quality-control activities and construction-support requirements.
  • Maintain accurate daily records and submit required project updates.
  • Communicate field findings clearly to supervisors, engineers, project managers, and other team members.
  • Work independently while maintaining productivity and quality expectations.
  • Follow all Cyient, client, OSHA, traffic, and field-safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in field work, telecommunications, fiber, utilities, construction, field surveying, technical services, or a related environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.
  • Must be comfortable being away from home for approximately 2–3 weeks at a time.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel between multiple field locations during an assignment.
  • Ability to read maps, follow assigned routes, and accurately document site conditions.
