Coding Auditor Educator

• Conduct audits and report on documentation, coding, and billing activities across the employer's entities
• Develop and deliver training programs and educational materials to address deficiencies identified in audits
• Validate compliance with coding systems and regulatory requirements
• Create and monitor inpatient case mix reports to identify trends and variations
• Provide guidance in response to external coding audits and assist in the appeal process

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
• AHIMA Credentials:
  Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• AAPC Credentials:
  Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital or physician coding and/or auditing

• Associate's Degree
• 3 years of experience with claims processing and data management
• Previous auditing and strong education/training background in coding and reimbursement
