Applications Software Senior
Location:
Maxwell Air Force Base‑Gunter Annex, Montgomery, AL. The role is within the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES), supporting the Base Maintenance:
Integrated Maintenance Data System Central Database (IMDS CDB), Maintenance Scheduling Application Tool (MSAT), and Tool Accountability System (TAS). The position supports GBM.
- Follow/lead an Agile methodology, e.g., scrum, Kanban, XP, and hybrid.
- Analyze and refine system requirements.
- Translate system requirements into application prototypes.
- Plan and design system architecture.
- Determine and design application architecture.
- Determine output media/formats.
- Design user and system interfaces.
- Work with customers to test applications.
- Assure software and system quality and functionality.
- Integrate hardware and software components.
- Write, review, and maintain program documentation.
- Evaluate new application software technologies such as containerization and the use of Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, microservices, standard application program interfaces (API), continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and maximize the automation of the software development lifecycle (SDLC); or,
- Ensure the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software services.
- Manage interface agreements and updates to user documentation by providing interface and user documentation support (processes, procedures, people, material, and information required to manage functional agreements for exchange of data and update user functional information within BMx FoS).
- U.S. Citizen.
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, five years of which must be in the DoD.
- OR bachelor’s degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, five of which must be in the DoD.
- OR 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD.
- CompTIA Security+ Certification (desired).
