Programmer Analyst III

The University of Alabama is hiring a Programmer Analyst III. The role involves designing, developing, and supporting complex software and hardware systems to aid administrative functions, including enterprise applications and integrations. The position requires collaboration with campus departments to troubleshoot issues, develop processes, and mentor team members on technical projects.

• Design and develop moderate- to high-complexity software and hardware systems supporting university administration.
• Support and develop processes within Technolutions Slate CRM, OnGuard, and access control applications.
• Collaborate with campus partners including Enrollment Management, Graduate School, OTIDE, CCSS, and Security Technologies.
• Serve as primary and secondary support for various applications and act as a technical lead on projects.
• Proficiency in SQL (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL), creation and management of database objects, and programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Experience with Atlassian JIRA for task management and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Preferred knowledge includes Windows Server (IIS) management, Linux commands, web development (HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, JavaScript), MVC, restful APIs, scripting (shell, Powershell, Python), Git versioning, and flat file data feeds.
• Minimum qualifications range from a Master's degree with 2 years of IT programming experience to a high school diploma with 8 years of IT experience including 4 years of programming.
• Salary ranges from $68,500 to $89,100 (Salaried E11 pay grade).
• Works on a team within Enterprise Technology department, supporting multiple university departments and acting as a mentor for lower-level team members.
