PTS Service Technician - Southwestern Birmingham, AL | Publix Super Markets, Inc.

The Publix Technology Services (PTS) Service Technician position will provide IT technical support for the Southwestern Birmingham, AL area to primarily include installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of IT hardware in Publix retail stores.

Our service teams largely work a shift of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, five days a week. This position is also responsible for rotating after-hours on-call coverage, rotating weekend coverage, and holidays as needed. Exact schedule will be determined by the managing supervisor based upon the needs of the overall team.

Your Impact:

• Perform installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of IT hardware including:
• Desktop computers
• Servers
• Laser and thermal printers
• Point of sale systems
• Barcode scanners
• Weighing devices
• Networking systems
• Support Publix retail stores through on-site visits
• Travel between store locations to perform technical tasks
• Complete majority of work between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation
• Required to work rotating weekends
• May be required to work holidays, as needed
• Augment support in other geographic areas when required
