Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of recent ICU experience.

• 16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) providing complex monitoring and treatment of adult patients
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospital locations required
• EMR:
  Meditech (experience not required)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes in a high-acuity environment
• All ICU RNs are required to complete an on-site skills test in addition to an online pre-test prior to starting
• A Cardiac Exam will be administered as part of the evaluation process after an offer is accepted
• No Health Stream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
• Timekeeping system:
  Centricity
• Solid navy scrubs required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restrictions

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or Red Cross), ACLS (AHA or Red Cross), and NIH Stroke Scale (AHA or Red Cross)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of recent MICU or ICU experience
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Nursys license verification required
• Active state or compact RN license must be in hand for consideration — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
