Travel RN - Acute Dialysis

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Dialysis position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 recent year in dialysis.

Job Details

• Dialysis unit position split across two campuses:
Regional campus (4th floor, 8 bays) and Northport campus (main floor, 4 bays),

• Regional campus hours:
Monday-Saturday, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM, with on-call coverage on Sundays and after hours,

• Northport campus hours:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with on-call coverage Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and after hours,

• Performs bedside and peritoneal dialysis treatments,

• Patient ratios: 1:2 (RN:patient) or 1:3 (RN + CCHT:patient),

• Primary equipment:
Fresenius machines, with Gambro used as needed,

• EMR:
Meditech (experience preferred but not required),

• Day shift: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM,

• Every other weekend required,

• Holiday coverage required,

• Floating to other units and hospitals required,

• 36 or 48 hours per week available,

Job Requirements

• Active AL RN license or Compact RN license required - no pending or temporary licenses accepted,

• No hits (past or current) on license allowed,

• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required,

• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required at minimum,

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 recent year of dialysis-specific experience,

• Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English,

• Documents required for consideration: current state or compact RN license, NURSYS verification, current driver's license, and 2 professional references from within the last year,

Additional Information

• Nurses and Certified Dialysis Techs (CCHTs) prepare and perform dialysis treatments for patients within the organization,

• DCH will provide training for candidates not familiar with Fresenius or Gambro equipment,

• Professional nursing certification (e.g., CNN) is preferred but not required,

• No pre-start Health Stream modules required - competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation,

• Timekeeping system:
Centricity,

• Solid navy scrubs required,
