Position Summary
RN – Dialysis – Days
Contract, In‑Office, Tuscaloosa, AL, United States.
Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals. Accept 36 or 48 hours per week.
Holidays as required. Every other weekend.
Dialysis is located on the fourth floor of the Regional campus and the main floor at Northport campus. Hours at the Regional campus are Monday‑Saturday 6:30‑19:00 with call taken on Sunday and after hours. On the Northport campus hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with call taken on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and after hours. Regional unit has eight dialysis bays and can perform bedside and peritoneal dialysis.
Northport campus has four dialysis bays and can perform bedside and peritoneal dialysis. Nurses and Certified Dialysis Techs on this unit prepare and perform dialysis treatments on patients within our organization.
- Dialysis ratios – 1:2 (RN: patient) or 1:3 (RN + CCHT: patient)
- Equipment – DCH currently uses Fresenius machines, Gambro as needed
- Will train if not familiar with Fresenius or Gambro
- Associate degree in nursing
- AHA BLS or Red Cross
- Registered Nurse, State of Alabama or compact license (no temporary licenses accepted)
- NURSYS
2 years of RN experience with at least one recent year in dialysis is required. Professional Nursing Certification preferred. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak and comprehend English.
