Description:
This is a travel nursing position in a medical telemetry unit. The unit specializes in the care of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Nurses have a patient ratio of 1:6. Care is provided to patients primarily requiring treatment for pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD, and other lung diseases. The unit may also care for medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical patients.
Patients benefit from daily rounds with the entire interdisciplinary team. The unit includes a respiratory step-down area with a nursing ratio of 1:4. Flexibility to float to other units may be required. Nurses are expected to work every other weekend and on holidays as needed.
