Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Health team on the night shift. This role is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing mental health and behavioral health challenges in an inpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting patients on their path to recovery.

Schedule Requirements:

  • 12-hour night shifts
  • Required 36/48 rotation schedule:
    • Week 1: 36 hours (3 shifts)
    • Week 2: 48 hours (4 shifts)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday rotation as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, monitor, and document patients' physical and behavioral health status
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
  • Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies utilizing appropriate interventions
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Monitor patient safety and implement de-escalation techniques when necessary
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and discharge needs
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to individualized patient care plans
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and facility standards

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • BLS certification required
  • Previous psychiatric, behavioral health, mental health, or acute care nursing experience preferred
  • Strong crisis intervention and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
