Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Health team on the night shift. This role is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing mental health and behavioral health challenges in an inpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting patients on their path to recovery.
Schedule Requirements:
- 12-hour night shifts
- Required 36/48 rotation schedule:
- Week 1: 36 hours (3 shifts)
- Week 2: 48 hours (4 shifts)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation as needed
Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and document patients' physical and behavioral health status
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
- Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies utilizing appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Monitor patient safety and implement de-escalation techniques when necessary
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and discharge needs
- Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to individualized patient care plans
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and facility standards
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS certification required
- Previous psychiatric, behavioral health, mental health, or acute care nursing experience preferred
- Strong crisis intervention and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
