Certs: AHA BLS

License: AL or Compact License (No temp Licenses accepted)

Must have experience/skill set:
Two years experience; however, we will consider 18 months of experience, working under the highest level of professional license, and must have 1 year of experience in the field of specialty. Must have ASN degree.

Unit Info:
Our General Surgical Unit is a 32-bed unit specializing in exceptional postoperative care for our general surgical patients. Nurses in this area have a 1:6 ratio and are trained in all aspects of postoperative care, including pain management, mobility, and bedside procedures. In this area, we especially value a comfortable and healing environment for each individual patient and their unique needs.

This team will closely collaborate with local family practice physicians, hospitalists, as well as our surgeons.

Floating:
Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.

Ratios:
Nurses in this area have a 1:6 ratio and are trained in all aspects of postoperative care, including pain management, mobility, and bedside procedures.

Charting System:
Meditech

Additional Information:
Facility can cancel 4 shifts per contract with no penalty (would be rare) and has 16 hours of Non-Billable Orientation. OT is after 48 hours regardless of a 36 or 48 hours per week. Unit won't interview but will offer based off profile. An interview can be arranged if the traveler wants one.
