Job Summary
Registered Nurse position in the Pain Management department at SSM Health Outpatient Center-Madison. Clinic-based triage RN. Work hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. No nights, weekends or on‑call requirement.
Responsibilities- Implements and monitors patient care plans.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- May round with physician in an inpatient setting.
- Applies evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge in nursing practice to meet patient age‑specific and clinical needs as described in the department’s Scope of Service.
- Demonstrates the professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model, using the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to evolving needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing.
Experience: No experience required.
Physical Requirements- Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent vision and depth perception for near and far distances, color identification.
- Frequent use of smell and hearing for alarms, machinery, body sounds.
- Occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects 25–50 lbs.; occasional moving of patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Occasional driving; rare crawling and running.
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin. Requires Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) from American Heart Association (AHA) and RN license issued by the respective state’s Board of Nursing or the Compact State.
