- Performs programs on all identified residents. To include but not limited to:
- Range of motion (passive/active)
- General strengthening exercises
- Ambulation and transfer training
- ADL’s
- Nursing whirlpools as assigned
- Placement of restorative devices and equipment
- Positioning
- Restorative feeding program
- Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.
- Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy department of problems, referrals or reassessments needed.
- Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant change in resident’s condition or motivational level.
- Reinforces team management of B/B program and works with nurse aides on B/B procedures.
- Attends meetings and in-services as required.
- Serves as a resident advocate at all times. Motivates others.
- Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
- Good communication skills with the ability to read and write the English language.
- Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
- Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
- A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.
