American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring trauma experience and an active AL or Compact RN license.
Details- Work in a 54-bed, state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center Emergency Department
- Treat all age groups in a high-volume ED that sees more than 60,000 patients per year
- Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
- Uses Meditech EMR system
- Mid shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
- Required to work every other weekend
- Holiday coverage required for every holiday
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
- Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact, currently in hand (no temporary licenses accepted)
- NURSYS verification required
- Associate degree in nursing required
- Current certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS (or Red Cross equivalent), NIHSS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a large hospital setting
- Trauma experience required
- Work alongside a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff
- Solid navy scrubs required
- On-site skills test required in addition to online pre-test
- Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no mileage restrictions
- Parking available on site
