Department Summary:
Works two sixteen (16) hour shifts every other weekend. Provides direct nursing care to residents. Delegates and supervises the care provided by resident assistants. Administers medications. Performs treatments and procedures. Obtains specimens as needed. Completes documentation as required.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of the Alabama Department of Public Health Rules & Regulations for Assisted Living and Specialty Care Assisted Living. Knowledge of Dementia Education, Care, and Training (DETA) and dementia in the elderly. Knowledge of the DETA Brain series, pharmacological management of dementia, the Dementia Assessment series provided by DETA, or equivalent training approved by the State Health Officer.
Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of experience working as a licensed practical nurse.
