American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift Respiratory Unit role requiring an AL or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.

• 42-bed Medical Respiratory Unit caring for acute and chronic respiratory conditions
• 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio caring for patients with pneumonia, COPD, shortness of breath, and other lung diseases
• Also cares for medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical cases
• Unit includes an 8-bed respiratory step-down area with a 1:4 nursing ratio
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend and every holiday required
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
• Uses Meditech EMR

• Active RN license (Alabama State or Compact), temporary licenses not accepted
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Associate degree in nursing required
• 2 years of RN experience required; 18 months considered if working at the highest level of professional license
• 1 year of recent experience in the specialty required
• No history of license actions, past or current, permitted

• Provide direct patient care within an interdisciplinary team that conducts daily rounds
• Solid navy scrub color required
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage restrictions
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules
