Registered Nurse (RN)

Join a dedicated team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the care of patients with kidney-related conditions. The unit is focused on providing exemplary care for individuals with acute or chronic kidney disease, often requiring renal replacement therapy.

• 36-bed renal unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6
• Specialization in post-hemodialysis and ongoing peritoneal dialysis
• Collaboration with nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists

Nurses in this unit play a crucial role in supporting patients throughout their journey, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing high-quality nursing care to patients with kidney-related health issues
• Monitoring patients and managing care plans effectively
• Collaborating closely with healthcare team members

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing; consideration will be given to applicants with 18 months of relevant experience if they have worked under the highest level of professional license
• At least 1 year of experience in a specialty area related to this unit
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current licensing as an RN in Alabama or holding a Compact License

• Willingness to float to other units and facilities as needed
• Utilization of the Meditech charting system
• Orientation period includes 16 hours of non-billable time
• Overtime is applicable after 48 hours worked
• Successful completion of a Dysrhythmia Basic exam during onboarding; failure to pass within two attempts may result in contract termination
• Open to local candidates with no rate differences
